Yemen's Houthis say they carried out six missile and drone operations against Saudi Arabia on Saturday, November 7, 2026, targeting Riyadh's international airport, Aramco oil facilities and Saudi military positions in one of the biggest single-day attacks of the renewed war.

Military spokesman Yahya Saree announced the six operations on Sunday, saying they used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones in retaliation for what the Houthis described as Saudi strikes on civilians in Yemen. The claims have not been independently verified, and Saudi Arabia did not immediately confirm any damage.

Key Points

• Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said the group carried out six missile and drone operations against Saudi Arabia on Saturday, November 7.
• The first targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, plus Aramco oil storage tanks and a distillation tower — Saree claimed it "successfully achieved its objective".
• The second hit Aramco facilities in Khurais, a major oil area in eastern Saudi Arabia; the third struck Pumping Station No. 8 in the Dawadmi area.
• The last three targeted military positions — a National Guard camp in Najran, and troop concentrations in Marib and Al-Jawf — Saree claiming many Saudi personnel dead and wounded.
• Saudi Arabia did not immediately confirm any damage; the coalition said on Saturday it intercepted a Houthi cruise missile heading for Riyadh.

What Happened

Saree announced the operations on Sunday, a day after the attacks he described. He said the first targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, together with Aramco oil storage tanks and a distillation tower, claiming it "successfully achieved its objective", without giving evidence of any damage.

The second, he said, hit Aramco facilities in Khurais, one of the kingdom's most important oil areas. The third struck Pumping Station No. 8 in Dawadmi, part of the pipeline network moving Saudi crude across the country. The rest targeted a National Guard camp in Najran and troop concentrations in Marib and Al-Jawf; Saree said many Saudi personnel were killed and wounded, but gave no figures.

It came hours after the coalition said its defences had intercepted a Houthi cruise missile heading for the Riyadh region on Saturday, and separately destroyed a drone there — read our report. Saree did not say whether the intercepted missile was one of the six operations he listed.

Background: A Truce That Broke Down in July

Fighting between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia picked up sharply after a truce broke down in July 2026. The 2022 UN-brokered ceasefire had mostly held for four years, but since the summer the two sides have traded missile, drone and air attacks with growing frequency, in a spillover of the wider US-Iran war.

Riyadh has been targeted repeatedly in recent weeks: October 30-31, November 2, and November 4, when the Houthis claimed a missile hit King Khalid Airport — a claim Riyadh never confirmed — read our report. Six operations in one day would mark a sharp escalation from that pattern of one or two attacks at a time.

The Houthis said the attacks were retaliation for Saudi strikes on civilians in Taiz and Bani Hushaysh, near Sanaa. On Saturday, Saudi-led airstrikes hit homes in al-Shariya village, killing at least 25 people, mostly women and children, the Houthi-run Health Ministry said — read our report; the Houthis now put the toll at 33 killed and 39 injured; the UN says 1,600+ have been killed and 300,000 displaced since the truce collapsed.

Houthi Six Strikes Saudi Arabia: A Claim, Not Yet a Confirmed Attack

The scale of the claim is what makes it significant — and hard to verify. Six operations in one day — the capital's airport, the kingdom's most important oil fields and three military targets — would be the Houthis' most ambitious attack on Saudi Arabia since the war resumed. But every element rests on Saree's word alone.

Saudi Arabia did not immediately confirm any damage at the airport, at Khurais, at Dawadmi, or at any military site. No images of damage were published, no flight disruption was reported, and Aramco issued no statement. Until independent evidence emerges — satellite imagery, flight data, or confirmation from Riyadh — the six operations remain a claim, not a confirmed attack.

Reactions

Saree's announcement was the Houthis' main statement: six operations, he said, with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, the Riyadh airport operation having "successfully achieved its objective". He framed the attacks as retaliation for Saudi strikes on civilians in Taiz and Bani Hushaysh.

The coalition's response so far has been its Saturday statement alone. Spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki posted on X: "Air defences intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the Riyadh region." He gave no comment on the wider claim, and neither the Saudi government nor Aramco commented.

Why It Matters

If even part of the claim is true, it changes the shape of the war. Targeting Khurais and a pumping station would mean the Houthis are again going after the oil infrastructure that funds the Saudi state — the same kind of target they hit in the 2019 Abqaiq attack, which briefly knocked out half the kingdom's oil output. Hitting the capital's airport too would mean a coordinated wave against civilian and military targets.

For Saudi Arabia, the test is practical as well as political. Its defences have stopped every missile and drone aimed at Riyadh so far, with no reported casualties. But every launch forces the defences to succeed again, while an attacker needs to succeed only once. For civilians on both sides, the cost is already real: the Houthis say 33 people were killed in Bani Hushaysh, and the UN counts more than 1,600 dead since the truce collapsed.

What Happens Next

Three things will show where this goes next: whether Riyadh confirms or denies any damage; whether the coalition answers with further airstrikes in Yemen; and whether the attacks keep coming at this pace — a second wave would confirm the new tempo. Diplomats will also watch the US-Iran talks, where Washington wants a firm commitment that Iran will not rebuild its nuclear programme.
